Free Movement
Assessment.
No Sales Pitch.
Before you commit to any gym, training program, or workout plan, find out what your body is actually asking you to address. The Free Movement Assessment is 30 minutes with a certified GForce trainer. We watch how you move, identify mobility limits and asymmetries, and give you a clear, written take on where to focus — whether or not you join.
Free, 30 minutes, no commitment, no sales pressure.
Most Adults Have No Idea
Why Their Body Hurts
If your shoulder feels off, your low back acts up after sitting too long, your knees complain on stairs, or you feel a step slower than you used to — you have plenty of company, and you also have answers available. Most of these issues come from movement compensations, mobility restrictions, or strength deficits in places you would not think to look. The shoulder issue is often a thoracic spine problem. The knee complaint is often a hip and ankle story. The low back is almost never the actual cause.
A trained eye watching you move for 20 minutes can identify what is actually happening. That is what this assessment delivers. You leave with specific notes on where to focus, what to address first, and whether GForce or another approach makes sense for your situation. We get a lot of these clients eventually because the assessment itself proves the value of having a trainer who knows what they are looking at — but the assessment is genuinely free and genuinely useful even if you never come back.
This is not a sales presentation in disguise. We do not pitch you a membership at the end. You get the assessment, you get the notes, and you decide what to do next on your own time.
30 Focused Minutes
Movement Screen
We watch you squat, hinge, push, pull, and rotate. Patterns reveal which joints are restricted, which muscles are not firing, and where your body is compensating to make movements work.
Mobility Check
Hip mobility, shoulder range of motion, thoracic spine rotation, ankle flexibility. The four most common mobility limits in adults 35+. Each affects what you can train safely and what you should prioritize.
History Conversation
Old injuries, surgeries, recent issues, training background. The story shapes what the screen results mean. A shoulder issue from a 2015 surfing accident is a different conversation than one that started after the kid was born.
Goal Discussion
What do you actually want? Lose 20 lbs, run a half-marathon, hike Yosemite without dying, just be able to play with grandkids. The assessment is most useful when calibrated to your real goals — not generic ones.
Written Take
You leave with notes covering what we saw, what to prioritize, what to be careful with, and how a training program would address it. Use them with us, with a different trainer, or on your own.
No-Pressure Recommendation
If we think GForce is right for you, we say so. If we think you would be better served by physical therapy, a different gym, or a different approach, we say so. Our reputation matters more than any single membership.
Most Helpful For
Adults 35-55 who exercise inconsistently, have a body part or two that complains, and want to understand what is actually going on before committing to a program.
Returning lifters who used to train, fell off, and are not sure where to restart given the new aches and pains a few years off can produce.
First-time gym-goers in their 40s who want a real plan instead of YouTube guesswork.
Active adults who walk, hike, or play recreational sports and want to add strength work intelligently.
If you are 65+, this assessment is excellent — though our Silver Strong 65+ membership includes its own dedicated PT fitness assessment that goes deeper. Either path works.
Common Questions
Is this really free?
Yes. No card, no commitment, no pressure. We exist because we want adults in Folsom and the surrounding area to train smarter — whether they do that with us or somewhere else. Most people who do the assessment end up training here, but plenty do not, and we are glad to have helped either way.
What should I wear?
Comfortable workout clothes. Athletic shoes. Bring water if you want it. We are not putting you through a hard workout — you should be able to drive home in the same clothes.
What is the difference between this and the free 7-day trial?
The Movement Assessment is a 30-minute focused conversation with a trainer about your body. The 7-day trial is full gym access for a week so you can train, see the facility, and feel out the environment. They are complementary — many people do both.
Can my spouse / friend / partner do it with me?
Yes. Joint assessments are easy to schedule and often more useful — couples training together do better long-term than couples training separately. Just tell us at booking.
Do you do this for people coming off PT?
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons people book. Our Post-PT Comeback program is the natural next step if you decide to train with us, but the assessment itself stands alone.
